It all starts high in the mountains of Wyoming where like all the other Rocky Mountains States the pine bark beetle has killed thousands of acres of trees. The only plus side to this little beast is that it leaves behind beautiful blue-stained wood, aka beetle-kill pine. I log and mill some of these trees myself. I also purchase lumber from small locals sawmills. After I mill or purchase the lumber, it goes into a solar kiln for anywhere from 3-4 days to several weeks. I then, straighten, flatten, plane, fill with resin, scrape, sand, cut joinery, glue up, and assemble. More sanding is then followed by 3-4 coats of finish until the piece is ready to make your beautiful home even more beautiful.
